What do I need to get the Loyalty Card Plus Discover Prepaid Card? What are the requirements?

Getting the Loyalty Card Plus Discover Prepaid Card is easy. Click on "Get a Card", where we will ask you to enter your name, address, date of birth, telephone number, and social security number. There is no credit check or application. Due to newly adopted government regulations, all customers are required to provide their date of birth and one form of government ID to receive a Loyalty Card Plus card. All U.S. citizens must provide their Social Security Number as the form of government ID. Once this information has been verified you are accepted and a card will be mailed to your address within 5 - 7 business days.

Can my Loyalty Card Plus Discover Prepaid Card be sent to a PO Box?

A.

No. Due to newly adopted regulatory policies and procedures, Loyalty Card Plus Discover Prepaid Debit Cards must be sent to a physical address.

 

 

Q.

Can my Loyalty Card Plus Card be sent to an address other than my primary residence?

A.

Yes. Upon selecting “Get a Card” you may enter a Billing Address that differs from your Physical Address. When you include a Billing Address the card will be sent to the address supplied in the Billing Address fields. Please note that the billing address may not contain a PO Box.

Can I request another card for a spouse or trusted family member?

A.

Yes, just sign into your account at LCP.mycardplace.com and order a "Supplemental Card" or call 877-220-3988 to obtain a supplemental card. You as the Primary Cardholder are responsible for all transactions performed on the Supplemental Card. The Supplemental Card has its own balance so each cardholder, the Primary Cardholder and the Supplemental Cardholder, have balances that do not cover the other. What this means is that if the Supplemental cardholder tries to use their card for a purchase that exceeds their balance it will be denied regardless of the balance of the Primary Cardholder.

Does my Loyalty Card Plus Discover Prepaid Card earn interest?

A.

Interest is not applied to card balances.

 

 

Q.

How does my Loyalty Card Plus Discover Prepaid Card work?

A.

With the Loyalty Card Plus Discover Prepaid Card, there is no credit limit. Instead, the Card's spending limit is determined by the amount of money you load onto the Card. For example, if you load $350, then the card will only allow you to spend up to $350 (less any applicable fees). You can use your Card at millions of locations worldwide wherever Discover prepaid cards are accepted and at any ATM that accepts Pulse and NYCE cards. You can also load winnings and withdraw funds at participating casinos.

How do I add funds to my Loyalty Plus Card?

A.

Loading funds to your Loyalty Plus Card is easy. You may go online at LCP.mycardplace.com and use the Load Funds feature or you may call 877-220-3988 and follow the IVR prompts for to Load Funds to the card. Funds may be loaded from a pre-registered bank account, a credit or debit card, or by direct deposit. You may also load winnings at participating casinos. What are the monthly fees for my Card?

A.

The Loyalty Card Plus Discover Prepaid Card has one of the lowest fee structures in the industry. To learn more about the My Card Place Debit™ Discover Prepaid Card fee structure, logon to LCP.mycardplace.com.

 

 

Q.

How do I check my Card balance?

A.

You can check your Card balance for FREE online at LCP.mycardplace.com. Or get FREE balance alerts via email or by cell phone. You can also call Customer Service at 877-220-3988 and use the automated service.

 

 

Q.

What if I don't agree with my available balance?

A.

You can review posted transactions online for any discrepancies. If a problem exists, please keep in mind that your account may have pending authorizations that should be complete as soon as the merchant settles the transaction. For instance, if you purchase gas and the merchant runs the Loyalty Card Plus Discover Prepaid Card for $55, we will hold this amount for the merchant. If the total purchase comes to $30, the merchant will complete the transaction by collecting on the $30. The remaining $25 will be released back to your account.

 

 

Q.

What if one of the posted transactions on my account is illegitimate?

A.

Please contact the merchant and verify that the purchase is not legitimate. If this is the case, request that the merchant reverse the transaction and credit your account with the funds. If the merchant does not cooperate, please call 877-220-3988 for further assistance.

 

 

Q.

What is the minimum balance required to rent a car?
 

A.

You need at least 20% above the authorized security deposit amount to rent a car.  

Q.

What happens to the card I received when I enrolled after I get my personalized card in the mail?

 

A.

When you activate your personalized Loyalty Card Plus Discover Prepaid Card, the card you may have received when first enrolling will be closed and any balance on the account is automatically transferred to the new account. You will need to re-establish your PIN when activating your new personalized card by calling 877-220-3988 and using the automated service.
 

Q.

Can I use my card to pay for gas at the pump?

A.

You may use your Loyalty Card Plus Discover Prepaid Card to pay for gas by going in to the gas station to make the purchase. The card will not be accepted if swiped at the pump.

 

Q.

Can my card be used for online gambling?
 

A.

You may use your card for online gambling transactions, race and sports betting, and forms of legal gambling activities in locations and online gaming sites where such use has been authorized.

 

Q.

What do I do if my card is lost or stolen?

A.

Report lost or stolen cards immediately by calling 877-220-3988 or by logging in to your account at LCP.mycardplace.com. Once reported, the account will be closed and a new card will be issued to you, subject to the fee as outlined in the Cardholder Fee Schedule. Q.

Will I receive the 5% Cashback Bonus rewards as advertised by Discover?

A.

No. The Loyalty Card Plus Discover Prepaid Card does not earn cash back rewards. However, the Loyalty Card Plus Prepaid Discover card is eligible for participation in the Discover Prepaid Card Sweepstakes $10,000 Payday. Q.

My credit / debit card was declined when attempting to Load Funds to my Loyalty Card Plus Prepaid card.

A.

It is possible that the information that was supplied during enrollment for the Loyalty Card Plus Card does not match the information on file at your Financial Institution.
